Promoting Greater Diversity in the Legal Profession

The NCBA Pre-Law Society seeks to promote greater diversity in the legal profession and NCBA membership by assisting college students from traditionally underrepresented groups in pursuing law school admission.

This pipeline program provides support throughout the law school application process and opportunities to network with law students and some of the most prominent attorneys and judges in Nassau, as well as attend NCBA programs and events, law school classes, and court proceedings. Additionally, several Pre-Law Society members have secured summer internships within Nassau County courts.

Current pre-law students are pursuing four-year degrees at Hofstra University, SUNY Old Westbury, Adelphi University and Long Island University.

The Karabatos Family Scholarship may be awarded annually to one or more qualifying students to assist in paying for a recognized LSAT preparation course or stipend for study.
